The secretariat of the mission ad genes of the Polish Province set up a project called “School with a Mission”. The schools that are a part of the project intend to connect their environmental (ecology) activities with a service that promotes Dehonian missions. Students collect batteries, CDs, DVDs, broken cell phones and other things that can be recycled. The proceeds from the sale of these items will go to projects supported by the Polish Province, such as the construction of houses in the Philippines, or wells in Chad. Students are being motivated with the slogan: “Collect – help – get a prize!” With a certain number of points the students can win books, movie tickets and more.
Fr. Piotr Chmielecki, SCJ, is the project’s organizer. “School with a Mission” is part of a large project called “Zbieramto.pl”. A few months ago a “zbieramto” collaborator left for the Philippines as the first lay Dehonian missionary.
