Confreres Fr. Quang Nguyen (USA), Fr. Grzegorz Piatek (POL), Fr. Carlos P. Lobo (MOZ), Fr. Paschoalim Joao Carlos de Castro (BSP) and Fr. John Karl Cabaluna (PHI) have been entrusted with the task of preparing the General Conference, focusing on the response that we are called to give in the social sphere. The conference is scheduled to take place in Manila (Philippines) July 14-18, 2018.
The space between our identity as defined in official documents and our social commitment is beginning to become apparent. If we do not overcome this gap we cannot respond adequately to the challenges of our time.
We believe that a General Conference with the theme “Faithfulness to the Gospel and our charism through formation in response to social challenges,” can be beneficial to all of us. We can eliminate the fear of “leaving the sacristy” so that we can go out to the people.
