European Dehonian Theological Commission meets in Rome
The European Dehonian Theological Commission met June 22-24 at the Dehonian community of the parish of Cristo Re in Rome. A new member has been added to the commission: Fr. Amedeo Tocci (ITM). The other members are Frs. Fernando Rodríguez Garrapucho (ESP), Stefan Tertünte (GER), Krzysztof Napora (POL), Joseph Famerée (EUF) and Stefano Zamboni (ITS). On the afternoon of Friday 22, Fr. Juan José Arnaiz Ecker from the Centro Studi Dehoniani (Dehon Study Center) was also present.
Most of the meeting was dedicated to listening to and comparing the presentations of the work of the members of the Commission on Fr. Dehon’s Couronnes d’Amour; this will be the subject of an upcoming study seminar (scheduled for 2019) to be offered to the European provincial superiors, formators and other interested confreres.
Also discussed was a seminar for the full Congregation to be held in 2020; this will involve reflection and organization by all of the continental theological commissions.
During this meeting, Fr. Fernando Rodríguez Garrapucho informed the group that his term as coordinator of the commission has come to an end after six years. Therefore, Fr. Stefano Zamboni was named the new coordinator and Fr. Amedeo Tocci the new secretary. The Commission extended its most heartfelt thanks to Fr. Fernando for his great work of animation and coordination of the commission during these years.
The next meeting of the European Theological Commission will probably take place in March 2019.
