The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing (Ps 23:1)
The news of the death of our confrere Fr. Mirosław Daniluk SCJ filled us with great sadness. He died in hospital on November 15, 2020 after several days of intense fight against the coronavirus. His life was full of scientific work and writing until the end.
He left the results of several hundred entries in the Catholic Encyclopedia published by the Catholic University of Lublin and many reviews and books on the spirituality of religious life. Two of her works deserve special attention: The Encyclopedia of Institutes of Religious Life and Societies of Apostolic Life (Lublin 2020), which is the first lexicographic study of its kind in Poland, and the abbreviation (Lublin 2012).
Mirosław Daniluk was born in 1936 in Kolonia Olszyniec (Poland). In 1953 he made his first religious profession in the Congregation of the Dehonian Fathers and in 1961 he was ordained a priest. In 1967 he received his master’s degree in history from the Catholic University of Lublin. In the years 1972-2002 he worked in the editing of a multi-volume Catholic Encyclopedia.
He will remain in our memory as an extremely joyful, kind and open confrere. His life was full of scientific passion, especially the knowledge of the realization of religious life in the Church. May the Heart of Jesus, to whom he consecrated his whole life, be a refuge for him forever.
