Venite ad me, omnes qui laboratis, et onerati estis: et ego reficiam vos. (Mt 11,28)
On November 18, 2020, at the age of 90, the Lord called Fr. Romuald Skowronek. His life was passionate about meeting people. He loved to discuss legal, moral and ecclesial issues. He was curious to know the world and different visions of life, and now he looks from the perspective of eternal life. We are certain that he now rejoices in the closeness of the encounter with God to whom he offered his life.
Romuald was born in 1930 in Brzeziny Śląskie (Poland). He took his first religious vows in the Dehonian Congregation in 1949 in Stadniki, and was ordained a priest in 1954 in Tarnów. He graduated in Canon Law from the Catholic University of Lublin. He was professor of Canon Law and rector of the school in Tarnów. In the years 1963-1969 he was superior of the Polish Dehoniani Province. From 1974 he worked in Germany as parish priest in the parishes of Mühlacker and Maulbronn. In 2018 he returned to Poland and settled in the Warsaw Provincial Community.
He will remain in our memory as a very kind and cordial confrere, even though at times he was very stubborn and tenacious in discussions. Nevertheless, he was a man always open to the encounter with others and with God. May the Heart of God welcome him into His Kingdom.
