On the night between 19-20 October, a youth vigil was held at. Exaltation of the Holy Cross Parish in Sosnowiec. The meeting was organized as part of the Dehonian Night of Hope vigil series.
Our last vigil was attended by half a thousand young people from Sacred Heart parishes, friends and Diocesan parishes. The first guest to speak was Michał ‘PAX’ Bukowski – leader of the music group Muode Koty, a journalist and TV presenter. He is also a happy husband and father. At this vigil in Sosnowiec, he spoke about his discovery of God and how to combine faith with everyday life.
Fr. Sebastian Kostecki, another guest of the night, said about himself, “Young people are on TikTok, so I am on TikTok too”. Being a young man in his early thirties, he inspires many young adults with his enthusiasm for evangelization.
After a break to eat, Fr. Sławomir Kuśmierz SCJ and some youth presented a drama to help young people experience the sacrament of reconciliation in a good way. Following it, there was an opportunity to venerate relics of the Holy Cross, and to accompany the intercessory prayers led by the Krakow School of New Evangelization.
At the closing of the vigil, 30 minutes after midnight, participants celebrated the Holy Mass which was presided over by Fr. Witold Januś SCJ, provincial vicar of the Dehonians, and the sermon given by Fr Tomasz Flak SCJ, pastor of the Dehonian parish in Sosnowiec.
Once again, this vigil strengthened the bonds among young people and brought them closer to God. Meeting participants left full of joy, enthusiasm and zeal to witness that God is their friend.
