I warmly thank you for the message, in the name of the whole religious community, that came on the occasion of Christmas. Today’s world needs you as sentinels who see the Lord before us by supporting moments of waiting. The simple human eye cannot see the Lord within the horizon of history, but the eye of the sentinels knows how to seize the announcement of salvation that spreads from the sentinels to the people of God to all humanity.
In my heart resounds the evangelical goodwill to be witnessed with the style of fraternity, of closeness, of sharing, of strengthening, with the grace of Christ, the treasure of the ecclesial community and of the whole society.
May the example of Father Leo John Dehon, apostle of the Sacred Heart, enlighten your missionary commitment and be an encouragement to continue with your apostolic zeal in your special mission in the Church as a channel of divine love for the least and the poorest. Preserve the apostolate of mercy, healing human frailties with reconciliation.
As a sign of gratitude for the gesture of charity that I have reserved for the poor brothers, I warmly bless you and the entire Congregation, hoping to live fully the true Christmas of Christ Jesus.
