The Child that we celebrate at Christmas helps us to understand the gift that warms the heart. He brings us this promise: “It is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35). The Holy Year of Mercy has helped us give concrete experience to this idea. Our spirituality allows us to appreciate the strength of the gift of mercy that flowed from the heart of Jesus, and the treasure given us by Father Dehon. It has been a year full of possibility and undoubtedly full of positive results in the lives of the people we approached and in each of our lives as well. We became more aware that we know and experience God through a gracious acceptance of unconditional mercy, love and reconciliation.
