The Dehonian Youth Community in Croatia, along with the Dehonians there, founded the “Fr. Dehon Council” with the aim of promoting the beatification of Fr. Dehon.
In addition, the Dehonian Youth Community of Croatia (Hrvatska dehonijanska mladež – HDM) is promoting a two-year training course to prepare for the Dehonian Year of 2018 in which we celebrate 175th anniversary of the birth of the Servant of God, Fr. Dehon, founder of the Congregation of the Priests of the Sacred Heart, as well as the 140th anniversary of the founding of the congregation and the 15th anniversary of the founding of the Dehonian Youth Commuity of Croatia.
The two-year course has as its motto: “Vivat Cor Jesu Per Cor Mariae” (Živjelo Srce Isusovo po Srcu Marijinu), a greeting of the Dehonians. It is dedicated to the beatification of Fr. Dehon, vocations for the congregation, and the spiritual needs of SCJ priests.
The first 2016/17 academic year is centered on the Blessed Virgin Mary in memory of the 100th anniversary of the apparitions at Fatima. Young people gather every 13th of the month at the parish of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church, and Maximilian Kolbe in Zagreb.
The second year of the course (2-17/18) will be centered on the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Fr. Dehon with the motto: “Vivat Cor Jesus”!
It will be an intense journey to see Fr. Dehon as Blessed…
