Pandemic time, closed churches, calamity time… this is the time in which we live. However, all of this didn’t stop the journey of three young dehonians in Mozambique to come to an important step: the Final Vows.
And so, on Sunday the 29th of August 2021, Br. Fracansa Soniva, Br. Herculano Bernardo António and Br. José Manuel Sócrates professed their Final Vows in the Chapel of the Sacred Heart Formation House in Quelimane.
The celebration has been a kind of “domestic” celebration, since we celebrated without the presence of all those who would have enjoyed being with us, due to the restrictions imposed by the Covid. Despite the situation, some confreres from Gurue and Molocue joined in with the confreres of Quelimane. Some of the family members also took part in the celebration, representing the other family members who couldn’t come to the celebration. The Eucharist has been animated with songs and dances by the candidates of the formation house and by some Sisters from the neighboring Augustinian community.
The Provincial SUperior, Fr. A. Capoferri, insisted in his homily on the fact that God manifests his confidence on us through the consecration of these three confreres. He also stressed the importance for them to be deeply rooted in the contemplation of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, so that all their life might be put at the service of the Gospel in our Congregation. The Profession is a movement “heart to Heart” and shows God’s fidelity and presence in our life.
The Eucharistic celebration has been continued into a festive dinner, with great joy of all the invited people.
We would like to give thanks for all the support that we received with prayers and encouragement, so that the event could take place although the difficult time.
We praise the Sacred Heart of Jesus for all the marvelous things that he has done in the heart of these young confreres in Mozambique
