Fr. Claudio Cappellaro

Father Claudio Cappellaro was born on August 13, 1923 and was 97 years old. He took his first vows on September 29, 1942 and was ordained priest on June 24, 1951.

He was currently living in Bolognano (Italy). He belonged to the Province ITS.

Fr. Claudio would have been 98 years old on August 13, 60 of which were spent in Argentina. On September 29 he would have celebrated 80 years of Religious Profession and, on June 24, 69 years of Priesthood. On June 3, he felt ill in the refectory around 9:00 a.m., while eating breakfast. At 11:45 a.m., while in the Collegiate Church of Arco he was remembered by the priests of the Alto Garda and Valle dei Laghi Pastoral Area among the Anniversaries for his 80th year of Religious Profession, Father Claudio, in the Emergency Hospital of Arco, died like a candle that had consumed all its wax, shortly after receiving the Anointing of the Sick, in the serenity of one who is resting.

This is how he spoke of himself: “As a premise, I like to recall the words of Pope Francis: “I am not afraid of dying, but I am afraid that I will not be able to bear the suffering that may happen to me.” I fully agree. I am 95 years old, I am the first of 8 brothers. I have been in Argentina 60 years.”
