Fr. Ilario Cavaliere

Father Ilario Cavaliere was born on April 23, 1933 and was 87 years old. He took his first vows on September 29, 1953 and was ordained priest on September 9, 1980.
He was currently living in Padova (Italy). He belonged to the Province ITS.

Born in Castelgomberto (VI) on 23.04.1933, he was baptized there on 29.04.1933 and confirmed on 09.11.1941. He entered as a Postulant in Albino on 28.06.1950, completed his novitiate in Albisola where he made his first profession on 29.09.1953, and then made his perpetual profession on 29.09.1956.
He spent 50 years of his life in Argentina, engaged in parish ministry until 2017, when he applied to return to the ITS Province, in the Community of Padua, for health reasons.
He dabbled with writing so much that he himself, in one of his documents, said he collected about eighty writings inspired by circumstances, observations, and meditations. He also launched himself into “theater” with “Drama on the Hill” in rhyme and “Return to the Forest” in semi-rhyme. He also drafted a kind of autobiography entitled “Grateful Memories”.
Remembered as a man of value, even if not known by all, with a frank humanity that he was able to channel into an effective creativity, even if humble and hidden.
Father Ilario Cavaliere passed away at dawn on December 10, 2020.
