In his 71 year of life, 52 year of religious profession and 46 of priesthood, on December 27, 2020, father Józef Cebula SCJ died in hospital in Myślenice. He was currently living in Stadniki in our Seminary where he worked in the Office for Benefactors.
He was born on January 31, 1950 in Nowy Sącz. He made his first religious vows on September 15, 1969 in Pliszczyn, and was ordained a priest on June 15, 1975 in Stadniki by bishop Paul Verschuren SCJ from Helsinki.
He was vicar and pastor in Florynka and Pliszczyn, chaplain of the Felician Sisters in Warsaw and a confesor of novices and seminarian. He served as an econom of the religious house in Kraków-Płaszów. For many years he worked in the office for benefactors, first in Stopnica and Kraków, and since 2003 in Stadniki.
He was very interested in philatelists. Also was a very big sports devotee. He was often able to meet when he supported polish teams. In his work at the Office for Benefactors, he met on a daily date with the problems of people with whom he corresponded by email. He also entrusted these problems in his personal prayer, knowing that everyone was very much counting on this support.
