In Ecuador, the two new religious professions are a sign of hope for the future of the SCJs.
On September 29, 2021 in the city of Bahía de Caráquez, in the parish of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Alfredo Fabián López Espinoza, a native of this same city (Province of Manabí), and Roberto Alejandro Burbano Chuba, from Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas (Province of Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas), professed their first vows. The celebration was attended by the religious of the District of Ecuador, family and friends. Edson Pacheco de Almeida’s 25th anniversary of religious life was also celebrated.
The celebration of the Eucharist was presided over by Fr. Bruno Roque Dos Santos, District Superior and was accompanied by a large number of faithful from the town of Bahía de Caráquez. At the end of the Mass, a coin was distributed to those present as a souvenir of the first profession of these two our confreres.
The fraternal agape was shared with some of the relatives of the newly professed, the religious of the District and some friends in the courtyard of the house.
We thank God for the lives of Alfredo Fabian and Roberto Alejandro.
