On the 4th of October, 2018 at 4.30 pm, the Archbishop of Goa and Daman and Patriarch of the East Indies His Excellency Filipe Neri Ferrão inaugurated the Chapel of Divine Mercy Home at Velim, Goa. The celebration began with the Eucharistic celebration.
The occasion was graced by the presence of our District Superior Fr. McQueen Mascarenhas SCJ, Frs. Vimal SCJ, Balraj SCJ, Wenceslaus SCJ, Fr. Geroge Pazzi Fernandes the parish priest of St Francis Xavier Church Velim, Fr. Shaym CAN, Dn. Martin SCJ, Mr. Oscar Barros who has given us his house to begin our presence in Goa, his family members, Religious sisters from FMCK and Salesians, and neighbors who were invited. There was solemn blessing of the Altar after the Homily and the inauguration of the Tabernacle after the Holy Communion. At the end of the Eucharist celebration, Most Rev Filipe Neri Ferrão handed over the Decree to Fr. Wenceslaus SCJ and the minutes were read out by Fr. Balraj SCJ and signed by His Excellency Most Rev Filipe Neri Ferrão, the Archbishop of Goa and Daman, Frs. McQueen, Geroge, Wenceslaus, Sr. Precilla, and some lay people. Fr. McQueen gave the vote of thanks after the Signing of the minutes. The occasion concluded with delicious snacks provided by Joe’s River Cove.
