It was a glorious moment for our district as we celebrated the ordination of our Father Roy Xavier in Kerala. The ordination took place in his home parish: Holy Cross church in Thangassery, Kollam, on November 25, 2017. Fr. Roy Xavier was ordained by Bp. Stanley Roman, the bishop of Quilon.
The celebration started at 3.30 pm with a solemn procession from the entrance of the church campus. For the procession, there were school children who played music, altar boys carrying candles, and also priests, nuns, elders, women and children who made a long line for the beautiful procession. The liturgy of the Eucharistic celebration was beautiful and lively. The celebration of Eucharist ended at 6.00 pm.
There were 35 priests, 10 nuns, and 500 faithful who took part in this great event. After the ordination, a delicious meal was served at the auditorium near the church. Many thanks to all who helped to prepare and participate in this celebration. Dn. Roy Xavier is doing his studies at ESIC in Valencia, Spain. He will go back to Spain to complete his work.
