The Polish Province had to wait three years for the gift of new deacons. On May 20, 2017, three students were ordained to the diaconate at the seminary in Stadniki: Jakub Gąsienica-Jacków and Mateusz Tomczykowski of Poland, and Aliaksiej Ventskevich of Belarus.
In the presence of confreres, family and friends they promised to follow Jesus, who did not come to be served but to serve.
The new deacons were ordained by the bishop of the diocese of Kielce, Msgr. Jan Piotrowski, who has a strong connection to the Dehonians, especially Polish Dehonians, from his time as a missionary in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
