New Dehonians, new deacons!
These are the moments that allow us, not only as Dehonian religious, but as an entire Dehonian Family, to feel proud. On the feast of the Immaculate Conception the congregation celebrated with eight young people who made their perpetual vows. Those who did so in the District of India: Joseph Anu Antony, Tinu Thomas, Vineeth Antony and Vinod Kumar. The celebration took place at the community of Dehon Vidya Sadhan.
In the Polish Province Jakub Gąsienica, Dzmitry Prystupa (Belarus), Mateusz Tomczykowski and Aliaksei Ventskevich (Belarus) made their final profession at the major seminary in Stadniki. The solemn celebration, presided over by the major superiors, brought together family and confreres. No doubt these are the moments that give us the opportunity to renew our own vows and say, “Behold, thy will be done.”
On December 8 the Spanish Province celebrated the diaconate ordination of Antonio García Rogado at the College and Seminary of San Jerónimo, in Alba de Tormes. Antonio studied theology at San Vicente Ferrer in Valencia, where he did campus ministry. Also, he did studies in public relations at the SCJs’ ESIC. He was ordained a deacon by Bishop José Ornelas Carvalho, bishop of the Diocese of Setúbal (Portugal).
Another diaconate ordination took place on the last Sunday of November (Nov. 27) in the parish of San Gabriele in Kisangani (Congo). Archbishop Marcel Utembi Tapa of Kisangani ordained Patrice Kimbwini Koshi. The province now has 10 deacons awaiting ordination to the priesthood.
