On Sunday, July 8, in the Cathedral of Porto, the Portuguese Province enjoyed great happiness with the priesthood ordination of Pedro Manuel Gomes de Sousa. It was a decisive and definitive step in his Dehonian journey.
Following Eucharist, at which there were many people. including confreres, relatives and friends of Fr. Pedro, all gathered at Seminario Missionario Padre Dehon (Fr. Dehon Missionary Seminary) to continue to celebrate the moment with fraternity and joy.
This year, 2018, marks the 50th anniversary of the seminary. There could be no better way than this priestly ordination to give a sign of fruitfulness and hope for the future.
Fr. Pedro’s first Mass took place the next day with the community of Centro Dehoniano (the Dehonian Center). Even here the presence of family members, friends and confreres was significant.
