In view of the organization of the European Meeting of SCJ Youth and their participation in World Youth Day, the European Youth and Vocation Ministry delegates are meeting in Porto, with the presence of the General Councilor, Fr. Levi dos Anjos.
he World Youth Day (WYD) will take place in Lisbon from August 1 to 6, 2023. The SCJs are also moving the young people that they work with to participate in this WYD. Whenever a WYD takes place in Europe, the European Meeting of SCJ Youth coincides with it. In 2023, the same European meeting will be held in the days before WYD, July 28 – August 1. However, it will be a meeting with new characteristics: it will bring together young SCJs from all over the world. About 400 young people are expected to participate.
In view of the orgainization of this World Meeting of SCJ Youth and their participation in WYD, the European Delegates of Youth and Vocation Ministry will meet in Porto (Portugal) from September 29 to October 1. The meeting begins with a sharing on youth and vocation ministry and on missionary volunteer work in the various entities of the Congregation in Europe. The General Councilor responsbile for accompanying this sector, Fr. Levi dos Anjos, will give a talk on the topic: The reality of youth and the new challenges in Europe. From here the Delegates will dedicate two days to consider all aspects regarding the organization of the World Meeting of Dehonian Youth.
This meeting of the Delegates will take place at Father Dehon Missionary Seminary, situated on the outskirts of the city of Porto (Portugual).
